College of Nursing Celebrates Nursing Day

The College of Nursing of Colegio de Dagupan in cooperation with the Nightingale Society celebrated its 3rd Nursing Day last September 26, 2008 at Leisure Coast Resort with the theme “College of Nursing: In Jubilation of all its Achievements”.
“The event was one of the most successful so far” Dean Aida D. Soriano said. “The event was lively and full of entertainment. Araw natin ‘to! (This is our day!)”, she added during her message in the opening program.
Headed by Nightingale Society President: Ellinger C. Cardaño, the Nursing Day Celebration was a successful fun filled event with such events as Singing Contest, Battle of the Bands and Search for Mr. and Miss Nursing 2008. The Nursing Day is the culmination of the week long nursing celebration. Different activities were conducted prior to September 26.
A Nursing Quiz Bee was held last September 24, 2008 at AVT at LCA building as well as a basketball tournament was conducted with all year levels competing.

The 2008 Nursing Day was not only for students alone but also an event where the faculty of the College of Nursing was able to display those talents and skills. Who says that they can’t groove and sing a tune? Definitely, they were able to stun and awe the students during their special numbers.
The Nursing Day culminated with the Search for Mr. and Miss Nursing 2008. The event provided a milieu of showcasing student talents, and answering questions wittingly. The candidates awed the audience with their swimwears and casual wears. Mr. Lloyd Darryl Palma and Ms. Sofia Mae Paet were hailed Mr. and Ms. Nursing 2008.
The event was sponsored by some of the companies in the city which includes: Natasha, Fuller Life, Vita Plus, Coca-Bottlers Phils., USATV, Mind Movers Review Center, Northcap 777 Review Center and C & E Bookstore.
The said event was telecast by USATV and the candidates appeared in Gandang Umaga Kapamilya, ABS-CBN Ch. 2.
