CDD-CICS named COD for IT Education

Colegio De Dagupan’s College of Information and Computing Studies (CICS) has been identified as Center of Development (COD) for Information Technology Education (ITE) starting March 1, 2007 to December 31, 2010. The award made CDD as one of the top 41 IT schools in the country today. The awarding ceremony was held at the Bayview Park Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Manila last March 23, 2007.

Centers of Development (CODs) are higher education institutions (HEI’s) that demonstrate the highest level of standards along the areas of instruction, research, and extension work. They provide much-needed leadership in all aspects of development in specific areas of discipline, that can strongly benefit HEI’s in the region.

The good news was sent through a letter to the CdD President Dr. Voltaire P. Arzadon from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Office of the President, signed by its Chairman Dr. Carlito Puno. The CHED recognized CdD’s commitment for the continuous improvement on the field and its capability to serve as role model in Information Technology Education.

As COD for IT, the college will serve as a venue for the optimization of IT education and training and the further development of faculty members, curricula, projects, researches, resources, linkages, and assistance in policy formulation related to IT education in the country particularly in Region I.
