Engr. Gerwin Guba , a graduate of BSCpe batch 2003 and a blue bloodied CdDian (Colegio de Dagupan Alumnus) is making waves in the field of science and technology ---- to be precise, the Republic of the Philippines' Department of Science and Technology. Engr. Guba who was a consistent Dean's lister during his college years is now the backbone of the most talked about and ambitious scientific development project known as PROGRAM NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards).
NOAH's mission is to undertake disaster science research and developmentally advance the use of cutting edge technologies and recommend innovative information services in government's disaster prevention and mitigation efforts. Through the use of science and technology and in partnership with the academe and other stakeholders, the DOST through Program NOAH is taking a multi-disciplinary approach in developing systems, tools, and other technologies that could be operationalized by government to help prevent and mitigate disasters. This project was regarded by the President during his 3rd State of the Nation address as a project of high priority and will become operational in the coming months.
Guba, being the Supervising Science Research Specialist of the DOST's Advance Science and Technology Institute, was bestowed with the responsibility of developing the country's first high end weather system.
Good luck and Soar high! Your Colegio de Dagupan is very proud of you!
