Vision
The School of Information Technology Education aims to become a Center of Excellence in Information Technology Education.

Mission
The SITE prepares students to be a professionals in the field of Information Technology and Computer Science. Upon completion of their respective programs, students are expected to:

  • Have undergone training in abstract and analytical processes;
  • Have developed personal and interpersonal skills;
  • Have acquired technical understanding in their major field of study;
  • Have been grounded in appropriate concepts and principles;
  • Have the capacity to adapt to the work environment.

Objectives
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs aims to:

  1. Prepare students to be IT professionals who are proficient in designing and developing information technology solutions..
  2. Instil professionalism and high regard for ethical standards and continuous improvement.
  3. Develop interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in collaboration with team members and clients maintaining focus on high-quality work.
  4. Develop the totality of students as IT professionals, through the behavioural and social science.
  5. Develop cognitive capabilities relating to specific task and practical skills specific to Information Technology
  6. Establish track record of IT project development that will prove useful to them, both in industry and in securing admission to graduate program.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Vision
The College of Information and Computing Studies prepares students to be professional in the field of Computing Science, Information Technology and Information Management. Upon completion of the program, the students are expected to:

  • Have undergone training in abstract and analytical processes;
  • Have developed personal and social values;
  • Have acquired technical skills;
  • Be grounded in appropriate concepts and principles; and
  • Be adaptive to the work environment.

Mission
The College aims to equip students with one more of the following:

  • The basic principles and foundation that underlie the science of this field;
  • Practical knowledge of how Information Systems are installed, operationalized, managed, and administered; and
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, develop, implement, and maintain information systems.

Objectives
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Programs aims to:

  • Inculcate comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental principles, theories, and application of the science of computing;
  • Develop cognitive capabilities relating to specific task and practical skills specific to Computer Science;
  • Develop and promote to students code of ethics in the Information Technology profession;
  • Develop the value of interpersonal skills in the collaboration with team members and clients, maintaining their focus on high-quality work;
  • Develop the totality of students as Information technology professionals through the behavioural and social sciences;
  • Provide sufficient exposure to relate the academic activities to actual practices in the field of computing; and
  • To establish track record of research, that will prove useful to them, both in industry and in securing admission to a graduate program.
